Ken Pelham You can also follow up the book with a viewing of the movie, which is faithful and true to the spirit of the book.

Gilles For non-fiction reading for boys I recommend, Alive by Piers Paul, a true story of survival after a plane crash in the Andes. That should be engaging for boys. There's great potential for discussion, for example about the (im)morality of necrophagia as a mmeans to survive.

Ken Pelham A similar book that's phenomenally good is Nathaniel Philbrick's "In the Heart of the Sea: The Story of the Essex." There aren't many nonfiction books you can't put down...this is one of them.
