great comment! Watched the movie, and just couldn't stop laughing when Cruise confronts 5 men in a fight and keeps asking if they're sure they want this! Little Tommy, just so cute.

exactly....and when he stands at the bus stop and he's the shortest person there...gosh, what were they thinking casting him?
Lee Child was of the same opinion back in 2000, when there was earlier talk of making a film. Child mused that the role might be played by a traditional celluloid hard-man such as Russell Crowe or even an American footballer who shared Reacher's physical dimensions. "Definitely not Tom Cruise," he noted at the time.

Nick Nolte certainly would have been a better choice. I didn't go see the move because Cruise was not Jack Reacher to me.
