Rebecca My conclusion as well. Read it as an adult.

mkfs Ditto. It smacks of that 'lost innocence' mentality that believes the world would be better off if we all remained children.

Caroline Liddell Considering that most reviewers are convinced that the Little Prince character represents the author's brother, who died in childhood,I feel that a
the sentimentality some reviewers condemn is perfectly excuseable! The French have a saying that roughly translates as ;"To understand is to forgive all!" When one realizes who the character of The Little Prince is based upon, the unabashed nostalgia for childhood innocence,& the awareness of the fragility of existence & relationships lost to time & the demands of life is entirely comprehensible. As for the lampooning of how we adult souls tend to lose track of the things that matter most in life,I am entirely onboard with the authors vision. But then I tend to enjoy satire more than most folk do! When we lose our sense of wonder at this astonishing universe,we lose ourselves. We DO become absurd from a child's viewpoint. The challenge is to remember that we ARE all still children at heart-so that we may be compassionate when childish behavior surfaces.
