For what it's worth, the pity party cuts off a little farther in. I'm sorry her emotions wore you down, but I can say with confidence if you liked Nora in book 1, you should definitely like her in Books 3 and the proficiency exam in Books 2 is by far one of my favorite parts.
Seeing as you are twisting my arm lol I will give book 2 another go. If I struggle I will endeavour to give book 3 a try too, when you release it, with fingers crossed of course :)
