The third (and probably last) “Early Earth/Monger '' eBook (in the style of Rob’t E. Howard’s “Conan”) in the series is now available! It’s entitled, “Monger: Ice, Wood and Nightmares, Book Three of the Early Earth/Monger Series” and is available wherever you get your online reading material. It’s a more conventional eBook with 3 short stories rather than the full-length novels of the first 2 books.
Book Three of the Early Earth/Monger Series continues the rugged, muscular, northern barbarian’s search for his kidnapped little sister and only living relative, Binny. Author Ian Pike Hammer offers three more action/adventure, sword-swinging, swashbuckling tales of fantasy and wonder in the stories, “Mons Glacies Magus” (The Mountain of the Ice Mage), “The Troll of Darkwoods,” and “The Dream Stalker.”
The master yarnspinner and narrator Eovaldar guides you through a harrowing encounter with the powerful wizard Hronix atop the pass at Bortzabor, as Monger and his new traveling companion Zhang seek to cross the top of the mountain before a deadly blizzard hits. The warrior must get from Khambatta to Mesmin Tora before winter sets in, ‘else he will be stuck on the north side and have to winter it out there, losing three long months of precious time; a commodity he has very little of. This journey will tax the fighter to the very edge of survival, but survive he must, to find his sister in, “The Mountain of the Ice Mage.”
In “The Troll of Darkwoods,” Monger confronts a troll with a powerful magik, so much so that he controls the Darkwoods Forest and EVERYTHING in it with absolute authority. He isn’t merely in the woods, he IS the woods. With an angry spell, he can turn Monger into firewood.
The barbarian fighter has a near-fatal, supernatural encounter with a soul-snatching being called the “Dream Stalker” in the third story of the book and takes a fantastical trip to “the other side,” a place of gray mist and blackness… and dark entities dwelling there.
Cover designed and illustrated by the ultra-talented and cosmically aware Andrija Dreznjak.
Let Ian Pike Hammer take your mind for a ride.

There’s a new barbarian in town… and he’s angry.
Authors note: If you are truly interested in reading this, t’would be best to start at the beginning with Book One “There Lived Giants” Otherwise the most important, repeating characters will not make sense to you. “Giants” is a full-length novel yer gonna love. The first chapter is a bit slow, but read on Pilgrim!
Early Earth: savage and brutal. If you can run, you better run fast. If you can hide, hide well. If you must fight, you'd best be prepared to fight to the death. It's pretty simple: kill or be killed. This is the savage and primitive world Monger the barbarian is born into.
Will the young warrior Monger safely see the young Princess Ursuleeta far, far to the south, across Zamzummim, the last stronghold of the race of ancient giants, or will the cold-hearted fighter abandon her and their band of fighting brothers if worse comes to worst? Her safe arrival and wedding to a foreign prince and the signing of a secret treaty mean life or death to the entire populations of six nations, though the barbarian could care less personally. You see, only HE can find and rescue his little sister Binny, his only living relative, kidnapped by slave raiders three years earlier. He is her only hope. He must stay alive at all costs; he must!
Come along with Monger on this epic and bigger-than-life adventure of action and swordplay as he battles twenty-foot-tall giants and other deadly foes across the known world of Early Earth! Hand-drawn maps of Early Earth included.
Authors note: Chapter one is a tad bit slow as I introduce Eovaldar, the narrator of the book. You're gonna love him! Read on to chapter two where the action picks up, then never stops! Step aside Conan- there's a new barbarian in town!
