Tee I'm glad I didn't get to that part 😤😤

message 3: by Tory (new)

Tory Calvert For real. Where was the content warning for THAT???

message 4: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie A. Not me scrolling through lower ratings until I find one exactly like this... because it should be at the top of the list, tbh, and I'm gonna do my part to push it up.

message 5: by Camryn (new)

Camryn Came here looking for this exact review. 😅

message 6: by Ryan (new)

Ryan I’m livid. I just got to that part and the book is officially ruined for me now. 😩😩😩

message 7: by Emma (new)

Emma Rutherford 100% agree it was actually so unnecessary!! If I knew that would happen I never would’ve read the book to begin with

message 8: by Lexi (new)

Lexi I went from absolutely loving this book to absolutely hating it once the dog died… like why? What was the reason??

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I understand that you feel like this but you have to read the 3rd book to understand that there is a reason for the dogs death

message 10: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Young arnold 10000% agree!!!!

message 11: by Setta (new)

Setta Jay Thank you! It looks good but I can't handle a dead dog.

message 12: by Mariam (new)

Mariam Wills This book contains murder, drugs, sexual assault, racism, even ped0philia but you draw the line with a dead dog…alrightyyyy

message 13: by Jen (new)

Jen E Preach, girl.

message 14: by Rida (new)

Rida Even though it’s sad that the dog died, I still like the book because this builds character for how careless the murderer really was.

Kayla Mariam wrote: "This book contains murder, drugs, sexual assault, racism, even ped0philia but you draw the line with a dead dog…alrightyyyy"

Yes Mariam, we draw the line with dead dogs because they are innocent. Dogs have nothing to do with any of those things mentioned, they are just an innocent animal. We knew this was a murder-mystery when we began reading this book, so we expected things like you mentioned, but to involve the dog dying as just some random plot point to try and save this poor excuse of a book? Not needed at all. Get out of here with your assumptions based upon one sentence, god. Not once did this review say that all the other things were okay.

message 16: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Smith Agree 100%…

message 17: by Shelly (new)

Shelly Doebler Facts, facts, facts! As Cardi B would say “WHAT WAS THE REASON!!!!!!!”

message 18: by siddhi (new)

siddhi b. AMEN

message 19: by An (new)

An Especially for a dog named Barney

message 20: by Wendy (new)

Wendy As soon as I could sense that was happening, I skipped ahead and realized. Yep. Trauma incoming done.

message 21: by Basanja (new)

Basanja Oh thank you. I stopped reading the book before that came into play. I can't deal with that considering the dog and the cat were the only likeable characters. Now I won't go back and play fill in the blank plot points. Nope.

message 22: by Carter (new)

Carter Spence Ever read Where The Red Fern Grows?
That's what I thought!

⚡️Avril Lucy⚡️ I had to take an hour break to hold my dog before continuing 😢

message 24: by Ilovebooks (new)

Ilovebooks Y’all are nut if that is a reason you stop reading and give it a bad review it says more about you than the book. Do you think in reality a killer would give two single s** about pets? We are dealing with murders here not a myth people are making.

message 25: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I just read that part this morning had to have a little rant to my dog about walking your dog on a leash isn’t hard should always be done if roads are near and you should only have your dog off leash in a safety fenced area . Also do not glue yourself to your phone when caring for your dog. You can live without entertainment for a few hours.

message 26: by Kate (new)

Kate Exactly what I said. Out of freaking NOWHERE the dog dies a horrible death for 2 chapters. I stopped right there. No reason.

message 27: by LouBean (new)

LouBean Although this is my favorite book, I do agree with this opinion to some extent. If you think about it, w/o this section to the book, the middle of the book would be quite boring. However, I do think that that there are other ways to maintain suspense in a book w/o death of a minor character. (e.g. another threatening note). But, I agree with ‘Ilovebooks’ and believe that this is not a good reason to stop reading this masterpiece. Push through people!!!! 🙂

message 28: by Samoyed (new)
