D.M. Coffman Hi, I'm DM Coffman, author of The Hainan Incident, a fast-paced spy thriller set in China about an American/Chinese attorney sent there to ferret out corruption in China's judicial system. Remember the 2001 mid-air collision between a top-secret US spy plane and a Chinese fighter jet over Hainan? It's in there, along with many strange (but true) personal and political experiences while living in China and teaching China's judges the rule of law. I hope you'll check it out. The 1st chapter is available free on goodreads.com.

Larry Garner I got this in the mail....I'd actually forgotten I'd entered! Any Colorado Front Range peeps are invited to the reading in Denver on the 25th.

Larry,

I am not sure if you've received official notification, so let me say -- D-E-D, Dead has been selected as a Finalist in the 2013 Colorado Book Awards in the Genre/Crime Fiction category. Congratulations!

Also, we are in the process of planning a Finalist Reading Event to be held on Thursday, April 25th at the Denver Press Club from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $7 at the door. The program, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar are included. Parking is available for $4 in the adjacent lot after 6 pm. The program will begin at 6:30 with a booksale following. Broadway Book Mall (Ron and Nina Else) will run the booksale, and I will need to know if you want to participate by April 8th. You will need to read for about 3 minutes. Last year we had about 100 plus in attendance for this event, and it's great fun! Let me know.

The actual Colorado Book Awards event will be held on June 21 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in Aspen as the culminating event of Aspen Summer Words Literary Festival.

Again, congratulations! I look forward to hearing from you.

Chris

J. Hi. I'm J. Drew and write various action/adventure novels, some with a sci-fi flavor some more mainstream. This week my suspense novel "War Party" was featured on Kindleboards Book Discovery. This novel traces a terrorist cell, an FBI agent tracking them and a Native American high school boy who has a vision that tells him the tiny town just off the rez will be attacked. He must convince others to help him stop the massacre that is coming or else.
Looking forward to seeing what others are reading and would recommend.

Eileen Hi and welcome, J!

Chris Allen This is a great opportunity and thanks for providing it in our group!

All I would say is that Alex Morgan, of Interpol's black-ops division Intrepid, has been taking down gunrunners across Africa - hunting Serbian war criminals - and now taking on drug trafficking in my latest, Avenger (due out end-2013).

I'm lucky to be in Amazon.com's Top 100 Action & Adventure Authors: http://buff.ly/ZKSdqS

Have a crack at Defender or Hunter if you are in the mood for a new thriler and Interpol agent like my melancholic but unstoppable Alex Morgan...

Best, Chris

Because the men on this yacht are US Navy SEALs. Terror On The High Seas. Two SEALs, forty-seven terrorists, fifty-thousand bullets.

If you have a Kindle, it'll be free via Amazon, June 15th and 16th for Father's day.

Didn't see any kindle version on amazon either. Did you see the price of a used hardcover? Wonder if it is an error.

message 48: by Khalid (new)

Khalid Ok, a little bit of shameless promotion here. Apologies in advance.

I am in the final revision of my first novel and would like to share it with you all. The novel is called Agency Rules and centers around a young man who is making his way into the intelligence services of Pakistan. It's an interesting and intriguing trip (as I have been told who have read the manuscript) that really tells a great story.

If you are interested in reading the excerpts that have been, and will continue to be, posted on the pre-launch website at http://agencyrules.com and you can join us either on FB at http://facebook.com/AgencyRulesPK or twitter at http://twitter.com/AgencyRulesPK.

I would be very interested in the feedback that you have to share since, as I said, I am in final revisions on the book.

Thank you and you may now return to your regularly scheduled Internet browsing.

Jim: Are you going to Bouchercon this year. If so, look for Zoe Sharp from the UK. You would probably enjoy chatting with her, along with the million others attending. I'm saving myself for 2014 in Long Beach.

Our local Festival of the Book is at the same time and includes a Cajun dinner and reading by James Lee Burke. Hard to beat that!
