After navigating the high-pressure world of Silicon Valley, Nova thought that a brief professional sojourn to the sleepy, semi-arctic island with a new business partner would be the break–escape–she needed. A respite, and an adventure, amid the misty Maine coastal spring. Until the delicious, liquid amber gaze of one young man threatens to alter Nova’s carefully constructed plans.
Nova’s life on the island quickly gets complicated. An island that old-money families like the Roosevelts and the Rockefellers used to make their personal playground is not likely to be a place open to change. Hidden under the boughs of maritime coastal forests and in the shadows of jagged granite cliffs, forces pull at the tiny towns dotting the island and its iconic Acadia National Park. And the mercurial charms of one local son make the warring tides all the harder for Nova to circumvent. Nova will need to navigate between holding her own in her new life, and accepting that, maybe, she might not need to be on her own, quite so much.
