All those Republicans in Congress are under Trump's control, some because they are in thrall of him; others because they're scared of his voters and want to keep their jobs at the expense of the country. Let's don't forget that Trump's vengeful nature is partly behind the Republicans disregard of Ukraine. Zelensky would not help Trump find dirt on Biden, or "go to a microphone" to announce Biden was being investigated in Ukraine. So Ukraine now has the wrath of Trump, and thus those in Congress who are either in thrall or afraid. I just don't think this fact gets mentioned enough so I thought I would mention it here. Thanks for being who you are, Judy, a true American patriot. (BTW, I do remember the ridiculous "duck and cover" drills in elementary school. How naive we were back then.)
You too are a patriot--and not the showy, flag-waving kind. Keep speaking out. As for "duck and cover," you're that much younger than I am!
