Anyone into sapphic comics, manga, and graphic novels? > Likes and Comments

I make my own ongoing sapphic comic series BUT I am also very curious to know about some others because in my experience I feel like a majority of fellow sapphics read more novels than manga/comics ^__^ And since I'm a graphic novelist myself, I definitely wanna support other sapphics in the comic industry as well! <3

tbh i haven’t come across a lot of sapphic books except for novels but i’ve read a manga called just friends which was enjoyable,, plz we need more sapphic graphic novels!!

Aaaawwww man! >.< Yea I knew I wasn't crazy! They are soooo hard to find! And a lot of sapphics make more novels instead of comics. :( But I am glad to be a sapphic graphic novelist doing it for the culture at least! LOL

The Sunstone series by Stjepan Sejic, for that matter, not strictly sapphic, but fine print was great.

I've actually never read a Sapphic comic. However, I was browsing through some art books recently and comics crossed my mind! I just got back into Art after a decade!

Recently just read Junior High by Tegan and Sara! It feels like such a wonderful coming of age story, full of angst and that touch of sapphic yearning! 🥹 I enjoyed it thoroughly as I am a huge fan of their music, so much lesbianism filled in their songs aaa!!

A few things folks here might like:

Otherside Picnic 01 - This manga is a SUPER slow burn (they weren't properly together yet at the latest volume I read) but I am starved for Sapphic adventure stories (especially the kind that have more adventure than pining), so I quite like this!

Mooncakes - Never sure whether people mean to include F/NB pairings when they talk about "sapphic" stuff (we need a word for "one of these people is nonbinary" love stories!)...but this one is very cute AND has lesbian grandmas too.

If you like slice of life stories with girlfriends just being cute (which TBH often bore me, but sometimes it's just the right comforting thing, y'know?):
Always Human - Soft scifi web comic with very pretty colors.
After Hours, Vol. 1 - Manga in which an unemployed 24 yr old meets a DJ
Kase-san and Yamada, Vol. 1 - Sweet school romance manga in which the character with less direction actually ends up with her own career goals! Hooray!

But if anyone knows of sapphic fantasy adventure manga/graphic novels with actually substantial plots...PLEASE send recs!

oh boy, you would LOVE On a Sunbeam. sci-fantasy adventure in space with no men in the entire story! multiple lesbian couples, with the main plot revolving around reuniting the mc with her love interest on another planet. probably my favorite graphic novel i've ever read i dare say, it's LONG as well which makes it even more fun

The Ojja-Wojja appears to have lots of plot and adventure as well, although the main characters are quite young so if that's not your thing it doesn't have to be. (it's got ghosts and demons though!)

Cosmoknights, Vol. 1 is just cool and fun to read. everyone's gay! many butch lesbians! again mc hunts down love interest in space! this also involves a made up blood sport where a very strong butch lesbian beats up men in order to save space princesses

andddd i'll just say anything tillie walden is good. i don't believe she's ever made a bad graphic novel, and theyre ALL sapphic.

Oh, the ‘Ojja-Wojja’ looks so good! And the MCs are also autistic and trans, respectively? Sold!

I realized ‘On a Sunbeam’ was already on my TBR…but I think it slipped down because I’ve read too many Sapphic books that were heavy on the pining and too light on the characters actually interacting and bouncing off of each other so that you can see A) why they like each other and B) exactly how each of their personalities works. Which I worry about being the case if the setup is “already in love but separated”…but all the positive recs bump it back up again anyway!

oooo! some GL manga that I’ve read that i really enjoyed was Bloom into you, Whisper me a love song, the guy she was interested in wasn’t a guy at all, adachi and shimamura, and how do we relationship (though I’ve only read the first volume!) some on my tbr are I married my female friend, doughnuts under a crescent moon, and monthly in the garden with my landlord!!

on webtoon there is an awesome sapphic fantasy series called Realta that I really enjoy, as for graphic novels I really enjoyed: Are you listening?, cosmoknights, and anything by tillie walden (although a lot of it isnt romance its usually about being queer)

Im super interested in wlw manga. One I recommend is sailor moon (haha jk). I love Kase-san and Morning Glories series!!
