Michelle Mickey This described some of my thoughts perfectly. I was both upset at the reveal (and how it was done) of who her father was but not at all surprised by it. Kind of been hinting at it all this time. And if Fowler is her dad, and he supposedly loves her, then why is he trying to appeal everything so damn much? Idk. The story wasn’t quite as cohesive as I was hoping.

Also agree about the relationship building. It was very much just insta-attraction and lust and only small moments embedded in the trauma where they were actually real with each other. Not terrible read, but not the best.

Brenda Bertran I was having a lot of conflict with their relationship too but at the same time it makes sense that she fell in love with him but still I don’t know how I feel about it but the story was interesting, football and mystery all in one

Marsha Just finished it. Started suspecting Billies father was A serial killer, but not that he was THE serial killer, the Midwest Butcher. Because the police would have had on file that he was her father, because they had done DNA testing on the crime scene.
I suspect this last minute twist was to get an 'Aha!' moment. An echo of what went down when the murderous, not-dead brother was sprung on us readers.
I like Tijan, so this is just a little grumble...
