You're forgiven by now I'm sure, but thanks for the great story! Recently, I found on the shelves of my library a book that wasn't even in the library system but I'd been looking for it. (Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon). I was surprised, took it to the self-check lane, scanned it, it wouldn't 'read'. So I moved to a manned check-out lane. I was told the book wasn't in the system at all, but I could take it. So I did, and knowing it didn't really exist in that library system, put it in my condo library. It appears and disappears from there often. (less)
But there is a certain book I was reading on a cruise ship, hadn't finished, and I was irritated at the cruise line so I packed the book by accident.
