Hi Elizabeth, there is indeed a lengthy author's note in the hardback edition showing what really happened and what was invented. I'm sorry it wasn't included in the audiobook! Ask your library to get a copy! Short answer: 95% of it happened as I wrote it. Thanks for reading! Alix
