I appreciate your honesty about your own life and how it resonates with “Queering Contemplation.” Your discussion of Cassidy’s ideas on toxic vs loving silence remind me of the debate on celibacy -- it can be a blessed path if chosen for oneself, but it becomes toxic when it is forced.

Indeed, as Cassidy points out in some detail, there are many areas of domination associated with both culture and religion where silence becomes toxic, and much of it does indeed relate to aspects of sexuality and/or sexual abuse.
