I have a (roughly) 70,000 word Christian fantasy novel that needs an alpha reader. If anyone is available to give me some feedback on it, please let me know.

message 6: by Wren (new)

Wren Kingsley Hi!

I am looking for a few alpha readers (1 or 2) who will provide honest feedback. I just received my development editing bac, but before I edit my novel, I would like to get feedback from readers to get their opinion as well.

I will have a checklist/questionnaire for you to glance over as you read to see if you agree or if you have other concerns/suggestions.

My novel, The Chronicle Keeper, is an action/adventure, with a mix of fantasy and a kindling romance. It is 50,000 words.

You can either respond back to this post, or you can private message me if interested.

Thanks!
Wren

S.M. Tunn Hello.

I have a contemporary family drama novel, and would love for someone to read it and provide some honest feedback.

I have never done this before, and the mere thought of it intimidates me. I've never shown anyone else my work before.

I would love to hear from anyone interested.

Thank you so much in advance.

Disclaimer: contains mild violence, instances of drug use (though not glorified), a lot of drinking, and bad language from the beginning; so it may not be to everyone's taste.

Hi Rabiah,
I am interested and have some openings.
Can you tell me how many words is your manuscript and do you have a deadline you are working with?

message 15: by OnceUponARead (last edited Jan 04, 2022 06:30AM) (new)

OnceUponARead Hi this is a bit more about the book with the word count and my deadline:

Aaira is the oldest child in an Asian household. She knows she has to be perfect. She knows she can’t make any mistakes. If she does, she will be punished. She knows the price. She had to pay for her mistakes. Aaira must hide from her past and her mistakes. She did the crime and now she has to pay the price. Nothing in life is simple nor is it free. If you make a mistake you pay. Simple.

Aaira is living a lie in Hertfordshire smiling to hide the pain and abuse disguised as love by her family. She is unable to tell anyone about it because she can’t be a bigger disgrace then she already is but when she meets Jays who helps her see she doesn’t need to live the lie she is in. She can escape from the darkness hiding in the corners of her life. Days of school and the trip to Italy make her emotions run wild. Even with Jays the shadows don’t leave her. At every turn where she sees light or happiness the darkness lurks behind her waiting to consume her and her happiness. As the sadness grows the amount of sleep she has decreases until her sleeping pills are the only thing keeping her going. Letting her sleep.

When Aaira finally believes in herself and finally thinks she can become happy that’s when the darkness explodes and now, she is faced with the reality of her secrets being exposed. will Jays be enough for her or will the secrets and darkness consume her.

The title of this book is Fallacious. The genre of the book is young adult fiction book completed at 7268 words with 41 chapters. I believe this book will appeal to fans of the book unspeakable by Abbie Rushton because both books have similar themes for example, the weight secretes can have.

My personal deadline is to have it completed by end of march/ start of April to have completed with edits. However, I am flexible if you need more time, I am happy to adjust my deadline.

Thank you. 😊

message 19: by M.Ehtisaam (new)

M.Ehtisaam Ullah Hey, I would love, if you check out my sci-fi, mystery novel (80k).

Synopsis: In a world run by robots, when newer model robots are made, the older models are thrown away like garbage. But Garbage needs to be discarded. So, the Nobles, the servers controlling the society, made Garbage Missions. Two friends Rex and Sabaton are struggling to survive. An opportunity comes to them that offers them new parts, but with a catch, among the thousands of robots, only one of them can get it. They accept this suicide mission to find a living human in the ruin of a tower. But little do they know that this mission is set up. Ancient mysteries lie within the tower, such as a living shadow, among others. They also meet an array of characters. Chinggis, the best ruin hunter, and a robot on a quest to take revenge on Rex for killing his "Brothers". Majnoon, the only other robot who shares a faith with Sabaton, but alas they are bound to clash for only one of them can get the reward. The tower also contains secrets from their pasts and also Zahra, and Chloe, whom they meet on their way. Will they succeed or be discarded like garbage?

Note: There are some horror elements, but I've kept them light, and few and far between. They are mostly related to dead robots, but there is no gore.

Just reply here, and I'll send you a copy

D Faradson Hi. I'm looking for alpha readers for my first draft of a fantasy-mystery-detective type of book with vampires, not in a modern setting. Features mature themes (nothing explicit as of now, thought there is mention of gore and violence), and LGBT themes! I'm looking for people who'd be in the target demographic for this kind of story. It's a little above 51k words and not finished yet. I'm looking to get some opinions on the story so far.

If this is something that interests you, please contact me at fdmedia1023@gmail.com
or fill out this form and I'll get in touch with you: https://forms.gle/9zWms7ix7k2g3UPB8

message 25: by David (new)

David M. I'm new to writing fiction, but I have a draft of a book about Judas Iscariot. It's kind of historical fiction that verges into fantasy. It's 52,000 words and change.

Judas has become a cardboard villain for everyone to hiss at. The idea that he was pure evil in heart from the beginning makes no sense at all. In fact, it is unscriptural. Judas was included every time the gospels mention the disciples in general.

I have heard of any number of writings that try to make Judas out as some kind of hero or someone the gospels are very unfair to. I have examined some and find it hard to take them seriously.

The most common comment I find that has any merit is that Judas regretted what he did but never repented. That is a valid inference from the gospel record and very likely correct, but the Bible never says so explicitly. I wondered, what happens if I write a story that makes Judas into a real person, includes everything the Bible says about him either explicitly or implicitly, but infers instead that Judas did repent as he died? The gospel accounts do have some hints that point in that direction.

I would prefer readers with decent knowledge of the Bible.

I'm also new to Good Reads discussions. I assume that if you reply to this post, I will get an email about it and we can get in touch.

message 26: by Hadessah (new)

Hadessah Hanks Hello! My name is Rowan Hanks, and I am a queer dark fantasy author! I have a book published called The Golden Gateway and it is first in the Gateway series. I'm looking for alpha readers for the second book in the series. It is a connected standalone, so the story makes sense alone, but it does have spoilers, so I would suggest only signing up if you have no plans to read my first book.

Blurb:
The Merr Siblings are known for betraying everyone around them- but each other. Jonan, Rayna, Valery, and Fynn are criminals, and damn good ones. They are as close as siblings can be, or so it seems from the outside. In reality, things are much more complicated. It only gets more complicated when Victoria Brooks, the leader of their country and someone they all dislike needs their help for a mission. Once there, they make bonds they shouldn’t, and get attached to people they know they must betray to get what they want. But when the time comes, who will they side with, each other, taking the selfish route, or will these criminal siblings finally show they are capable of change?

If you want to alpha read for me, please sign up using this Google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FA...

Books by Ally Hi! I'm Lyssi and I'm a first time author! I'm looking for alpha readers to kindly help me in my dark romantasy. Four main characters, set in third person POV, shadow daddies, asian mythologe (loosely, as this is set in a new world, so the legend is different than in real life) and a moody, morally gray FMC.

My email is carriggaalyssia@gmail.com. Please email if interested!!!

message 31: by Aricka (new)

Aricka Decker Hello I am looking for a few alpha readers for my first book. I am currently only 20 chapters in, but I am looking for some nice feedback and to see if my writing even resonates with anyone. It is a MM romance, friends to lovers set in NHL. Though it is a hockey romance, its not about the hockey and its just the setting and background for these two characters. This is a single 1st person POV story, with a lot of yearning and spiraling over being in love with his best friend.

If you are interested please send me an email at: h.e.deckerbooks@gmail.com
