2. Click on Add a book. The book creation page displays with your correct author name pre-filled.
3. Fill in your book's remaining details. For tips, see our Librarian Manual.
4. Click Create book.
Hi Emmy, Thank you! I have added the book.
I was wondering if you might be able to help me with something else as well. Right now, there are five other books on my profile besides The Dark Thing. Four were indeed written by me, but one was not and I would like to have it removed from my profile. The title of this book is: The Gathering of the Fairy Horses Series (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9...)
If possible, I'd actually like to have the other four books (The Scrolls of Xavier, Before the Storm, Seas of Darkness, and The Lost Tribe) removed from my profile as well. I did write these books, but I wrote and published them when I was a teenager, and they are not reflective of my current writing. However, I totally understand if removing these isn't an option.
Thanks again for your help!
John
I moved 'The Gathering of the Fairy Horses Series' to a new profile so it won't show on your author page any longer (it may take some time for the page to update). With regard to your other question: we do not ever delete books (unless they have never been published and have never been reached out as ARC, in which case you need to contact Support for having these deleted).
Reason is that, although it may concern old material, out of print or meanwhile revised/rewritten books, our members may still have such a book in their hands (bought second-hand, borrowed or inherited it, found it in the attick...), wish to shelve it, read it and rate/review it.
But you could make a note in your bio that the books in question were written long ago and don't represent your current work.
Okay, thank you so much! One final question, if you don't mind, and I promise I'll stop bugging you! My Goodreads author name is "John A. Ashley", but the author name that the book will be published under on Amazon (and everywhere else for that matter) is "John Ashley". Is that going to be an issue when it comes to linking the book's Amazon and Goodreads pages?
Sorry btw, if this is covered in the Librarian Manual. I looked but couldn't find anything.
Yes, this will most likely cause the auto-created amazon_bot imports to land on the wrong profile John Ashley instead of your current author profile.I think you'd best contact Support via the Contact Us form to discuss this further in order to avoid future problems.

The son of a schizophrenic, Jared Gordon has lived his entire life with a genetic time bomb coded into his DNA. So when the night terrors and hallucinations arrive in force, it seems undeniable that the same disease responsible for his father’s suicide is to blame.
But a bizarre reunion with his estranged brother and a journal from their father resurface chilling childhood memories that cast his current experiences in a sinister new light. To have any hope of salvation, Jared must find proof whether the nightmare he’s living is a descent into madness or an assault from a supernatural force more ancient and evil than Hell itself. Yet at every turn, the answer only grows more impossible to believe, upending his view of himself, his past, and the very nature of reality.
Worst of all is the growing suspicion that his youngest daughter Elena – an eccentric little girl prone to strange and sometimes unsettling behaviors – may be responsible for setting into motion a cataclysm that began decades before she was born.
