Thank you for the feedback. I wish others would explain their disappointment. unfortunately I made an assumption that more people understood how computer data centers work with seperation of electrical feed lines and I tried to explain that attaching power directly to hardware in most cases would be isolated. I did explain in the story that the computer in question and storage shared a power source, which is not typical in modern implementations, and thus, the error in the character's efforts.
