Brent Stansfield Keep the gate closed at all times, then they can't get in. Deer can't jump over an 8' fence, so get a taller gate and keep it closed. BTW, patiently waiting for number 18. Enjoy the summer, it never seems to last long enough. (I could do without the exaggerated 98 degree temps though, it's to hot and muggy to do anything.) Have a nice day!

Thanks, Brent! Believe it or not, our place is surrounded by an 8' high fence, and our gate is 8' high as well. And you're right, deer can't jump it. Unfortunately, this one kept trying until landed on it often enough that she tore the pagewire off the posts. I'm just hoping that now that her babies are on the OUTSIDE of the fence, she won't bother to try so hard. So far, so good.

Thanks for your patience with Book 18. It's been frustrating to be kept away from writing for this long, but things seem to be calming down now, so I have high hopes. (I also hope I didn't just jinx this bit of relative calm.) :-)

98 degrees, yikes. We've been sitting at 88 for the past 2 weeks, and that's hot enough for me. I hope things cool down for both of us soon! :-)
