It can be confusing, but to some people, in England I think, the word "corn" is a catchall word for any grain including wheat. When the King James Bible, for example, uses that word, it might be better translated as "grain."
Thanks for the enlighting info. I am far from anything close to being a linguist. And yes, I do recall there being a one time only Syd Barrett concert (Stars the band was called) performed late 1970 at the “Corn Exchange” (in Cambridge, I believe). I doubt they meant the North American grain known as “corn” exclusively.
