Dan Garrett Hi, Victoria. Thank you so much for your feedback. I think you're right that very little regarding the criminal investigation is sorted out in Book 1 because that's the story arc which spans the whole trilogy. Luckily, on a personal level, Ryan and Jake manage to kickstart a relationship, Jake gets a proper home, and baby Kody arrives safely in the world, so some small steps forward are made. Book 2 is a rocky rollercoaster of a read, but by the end of Book 3, every thread is neatly tied up. If you're interested to understand how Ryan and Jake first met, have a look at the prequel. It's a free read called Wlldcard on Wattpad. (DanGarrettAuthor) The story covers how Ryan (a rookie detective back then) discovers Jake living on the streets and earning his way by busking in the subways. The unlikely alliance is formed when Jake's psychic skills are able to help Ryan with a serial killer case.
