Patrick Ussher I understand where you are coming from in your review and of course I respect your right to criticise my book.

I just wish to highlight that the book is presented as an hypothesis. Why it is that I and others might recover from POTS using a program like the DNRS is something worthy of scientific consideration. In science, nothing is off the table. If someone recovers from being totally bedridden by using a program like the DNRS, I think that we should be curious as to why. Please note in the final chapter that I suggest that my ideas could be a starting point for more scientific minds than my own to refine the ideas I am presenting. The aim of the book was to get the ball rolling not to be the final word.

I have also got feedback on the book from a POTS professor at the Mayo Clinic and a professor in biology who has studied POTS extensively. While giving me some helpful feedback, both were very encouraging about the book. One of them felt it to be the best explanation they had encountered for the condition. I have not had time to update my book with their feedback but I have posted corrections on the book’s website and linked this back to the Amazon page.

There is, of course, more to POTS than just a maladaptive stress response in the brain and I would always encourage people to read a wide range of sources - such as the ones you recommend - and be under the care of an experienced POTS doctor in developing a multi-lateral approach towards recovery / improvement. Although I did discuss some of the other pathologies within POTS in the book, I could have discussed more of them and in more detail. In so far as your review is criticising me for that, I accept that criticism as valid.

But let’s not push under the table the experience of those who do recover. We need to work out why these recoveries happen and if the mainstream scientists aren’t trying to work that out, someone has to try, even if that might involve making mistakes.

Please note that I do not work for the DNRS. My book is not an attempt to market for them. I was not able to reveal their techniques in the book due to a confidentiality agreement that you are bound to when you buy the program. I wish it were otherwise but that’s just how it is. I have also set the price at the lowest possible point - this book is not a money-making exercise for me.

Thank you for your review and I wish you all the best.
