Hi everyone. I'm new to the group. I hope I'm selecting the right folder. I'm an animal lover and am especially fond of cats. I've taken in stray cats and dogs throughout my life. I currently have one rescued cat named Simba. I'm also an author and have written a variety of books. My latest is the story of a cat who is rescued from life on the streets when she finds her forever home with a wonderful woman named Summer. It was inspired by a real cat I had who I named Ebony. Ebony had been abandoned in a business complex. She was starving and would scream at people to feed her but then run away if anyone tried to get close to her. I was beginning to afraid I wouldn't be able to get her, but I thankfully was able to catch her one day. I had over 20 wonderful years with her, and her story inspired me to write my book. I'm hoping the story helps people understand some of the things cats (and other pets) must go through when they are abandoned. I chose to have a happily ever after ending to focus on the positive, but I've often wondered what my rescued pets went through before they found their forever home with me!

Why did you name your character "Summer?"

It's just a name I have always loved. 😀

My rescued horse is named "Summer."

That's awesome! I like horses also.
