Daniel Brisbin Wow interesting review. Thanks for writing it. I Feel like I should give this one a shot.

Alexander McStan 82 Thanks for the great review. As a big Showbread fan - and someone who has deconstructed - I was unsure whether this would be worth reading. But it honestly seems like he's getting into the old tropes of just dismissing people who have deconstructed without much nuance or compassion.

I guess the "in your face" style works well for his music, not so much for this writing...

The weird thing is, I've listed to multiple interviews that he's done on this subject. And he always seems to come across as being more understanding or accepting of different perspectives. He seems like he's okay to disagree. And maybe he is, but I find it hard to square with the tone of the book. There's a dissonance that I can't make sense of.

Shannon Lewis I'm wondering if we read the same book? I deeply appreciated his honesty & grace towards those deconstructing, actually. I didn't pick up on ANY of what you mention above. Very interesting.

Claire Keck I wish I could repost a review

Joshua Porter Phew, thanks for the backup, Shannon.

Abigail Bauman Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm glad I'm not just crazy for being less than thrilled at this cold, un-christ-like approach to people (many abused by the church) evaluating their faith.
