Thank you for the update!
Yes. It's ugly and hateful. I wish christian-inclined people spent less time on Leviticus and more time on the Beatitudes.
I liked this review quite a bit.
I think it's important to bring awareness to these issues, even in fictionalized settings.
It's harrowing to read, but many folks not part of the LGBTQA+ community aren't aware of how draconian these bills are. Many folks aren't aware these bills are being written and lobbied for by white Americans.
This will reach folks who don't care to keep up with the news.
Also, this will act as history for the future when it's hard to believe this kinda of hatred was legal, much less common and wide spread.
The formal history of the civil rights movement is anemic. Fiction can help to fill out the stuff we become too embarrassed to admit was once a regular Tuesday.
Or so I hope. Cause we can't stay like this. These bills are horrific.
For the most part, this entire timeline is horrific. This election is surreal. May the odds be ever in our favor.

Ugh, colonialist Christianity strikes again, and now this imported queerphobia is supposed to reflect traditional Ghanaian values.
