Vera "COBWEB BRIDE" - Epic Fantasy / Historical Romance
Book launch date: July 15, 2013
Copies Available: Unlimited through NetGalley (click here, it's free)
Format: Kindle .mobi, EPUB, PDF

Cobweb Bride by Vera Nazarian

Many are called... She alone can save the world and become Death's bride.

COBWEB BRIDE (Cobweb Bride Trilogy, Book One) is a history-flavored fantasy novel with romantic elements of the Persephone myth, about Death's ultimatum to the world.

What if you killed someone and then fell in love with them?

In an alternate Renaissance world, somewhere in an imaginary "pocket" of Europe called the Kingdom of Lethe, Death comes, in the form of a grim Spaniard, to claim his Bride. Until she is found, in a single time-stopping moment all dying stops. There is no relief for the mortally wounded and the terminally ill....

Covered in white cobwebs of a thousand snow spiders she lies in the darkness... Her skin is cold as snow... Her eyes frozen... Her gaze, fiercely alive...

While kings and emperors send expeditions to search for a suitable Bride for Death, armies of the undead wage an endless war... A black knight roams the forest at the command of his undead father… Spies and political treacheries abound at the imperial Silver Court.... Murdered lovers find themselves locked in the realm of the living...

Look closer — through the cobweb filaments of her hair and along each strand shine stars...

And one small village girl, Percy—an unwanted, ungainly middle daughter—is faced with the responsibility of granting her dying grandmother the desperate release she needs.

As a result, Percy joins the crowds of other young women of the land in a desperate quest to Death's own mysterious holding in the deepest forests of the North...

And everyone is trying to stop her.

Rita Monticelli Hello, I'm new here! I'm an Italian sci-fi author. I will get my books translated into English in the next months and I'm trying to gather a group of readers, who like sci-fi and would be interested in receiving advance reader copies of my books, when they are ready (not earlier than next spring).
It's a sci-fi series titled "Red Desert" and includes four books.

Here is the synopsis of the series.

Thirty years have passed after the Mars exploration mission Hera, whose crew died in mysterious circumstances. This failure and the politic issues coming from it have slowed down NASA in its run to conquer space, but now it’s time for a new mission called Isis. This time the five members of the crew will not travel for over 400 million kilometres for a short visit, but they are destined to become the first colonisers of the Red Planet.
Among them is a Swedish exobiologist, Anna Persson, landed to this adventure in the hope of starting a new life away from Earth.
But Mars will have an unbelievable discovery in store for her, key of a mystery hidden in the depth of Valles Marineris.

More information here: http://ladyanakina.blogspot.it/2013/0...

If you are interested, just let me know.
Thank you!
Carla

Nicolas Wilson Next month, my novel Homeless will be available, and I'd love to offer copies for any of you guys interested in reading it ahead of time, to review within six weeks of its launch.

Homeless is a post apocalyptic novel that combines elements of survival horror and spaghetti westerns.

Here's the blurb:

Humanity has been decimated by a violent new species that nests in any enclosed spaces, and slaughters everything unfortunate enough to come indoors. Mitch is a 'Wall Banger', an explosives expert who 'cracks' buildings, exposing them to air and sunlight to kill these invasive organisms. When a friend of Mitch's asks for help tracking down a murderer, Mitch recruits Cori, a 'Shadow Runner' who races through infested spaces to gather supplies and saleable loot. But this terrifying contagion isn't the only danger, as their world descends into a harrowing marathon against oversupplied militias, murderous gangs, self-righteous survivors, and all-out starvation.

If you're interested in reviewing it close to its launch, message me your email and preferred file format.

Thanks!

J.h. Coates I am currently looking for beta readers for my book My Boyfriend is a MONSTER (available in ePub, Mobi, PDF). The book has been released already but I am wanting to make it stronger and better, as well as fix any mistakes I have missed.

I did not have the means to pay for an editor, (my sad story is on my authors page). And I did not find this awesome site until just a short time ago. So far the few people I have met, have been honest and amazingly helpful. I am relying mostly on my digital channels so I can easily change/fix and upload constantly.

I am not afraid of suggestions of any kind. I am currently writing the sequel (book II), but I am dedicated to trying to make this book the best it can be. I am willing to send a copy to anyone who is willing to take a look. I have gone over the book multiple times and run it through a few different software programs (grammarly, paper rater) but I'm sure I missed some things. Whether it be grammar, sentence structure, maybe a chapter needs shortening, a paragraph needs hacking, it does not matter, any help will be appreciated and acknowledged.

If you are interested, please email me myboyfriendisamonsterbook@gmail.com

Let my know what file you would prefer, ePub, Mobi, PDF.

Thank You

J.H. Coates

Sally Grotta The Winter Boy

Review copies of my next novel are now available.

Reminiscent of Margaret Atwood, Mary Doria Russell and Ursula K. LeGuin, "The Winter Boy" explores important political issues within a dynamic, character-driven otherworld, wrapped up in great storytelling. A cloistered society of widows has forged a centuries-long peace by using dialog, reason and sex to train young men destined to be their world's leaders. But a new widow’s first season with a “problem” boy is disrupted and distorted, when she uncovers a web of conspiracies that threaten his life and could destroy their entire society. And a winter that should have been a gentle, quiet season becomes one of conflict, anger and danger.

It wasn’t over. Not even close. After months of fighting the undead ravaging the town of Tres Marias, Dave Pulaski is tired—bone tired. Somehow, he and his wife, Holly, and their friends have managed to survive the contagion only to find themselves deep in a Northern California forest, pursued by a shrieking, hellish horde that threatens to devour them.

Then a miracle—Black Dragon Security helicopters ascend over a mist-shrouded ridge as more armed soldiers on ATVs come to destroy the attackers by the scores. They are saved! As the helicopter lifts off, Dave meets Evie Champagne, the intrepid television reporter who covered the tragedy until she mysteriously disappeared in the chaos and the violence. Like him, she is tired and afraid. But there’s something else.

Evie knows a secret.

Black Dragon has retaken Tres Marias from the Red Militia—a human scourge they battled along with the undead—and has again secured the command center. Survivors are getting medical attention and, bit by bit, the town is returning to normal. Or so Dave thinks. Things are about to get worse. The virus is mutating. And Evie knows who is to blame. The truth stretches far beyond Robbin-Sear, the mysterious biotech company with a secret lab located somewhere in the forest. The mayor may be involved, along with another even more sinister government agency.

Dave has a choice. He and Holly can leave the safe zone and fend for themselves. Or they can join Black Dragon and try to discover the truth about what really happened. All Dave wants is to protect those closest to him—especially Holly. He must decide, and time is short. The people responsible for the outbreak may be planning something worse—something whose dark consequences will reach far beyond Tres Marias and will push Dave beyond the limits of faith and reason.

Read Dead Is All You Get with the lights on. And keep telling yourself, “This can’t happen here.”

Kade Finley, of the Scottish Isles, was raised on legends of the sea. His Gaffer, Toran Finley said, that beneath Muireall’s wind-swept cliffs, deep under the waves, there lived a legend as old as the Highlands themselves. Of Manannán Mac Lir, the sea god, and his beautiful sea maidens, the maighdean mhara, who swam the tides, luring sailors to their deaths.

But they’re not just legend.

Kade saw one on his ninth birthday. On that day, a fierce storm swallowed half the island, and his da, Aidan Finley, was never seen again.

It’s been nine years since Da disappeared, and Gaffer is dying.

Desperate to save him, Kade decides to capture a maighdean mhara, of whom the stories say will grant one wish if caught. But Admiral Gilbert Owen, commander of the island’s WWII naval base, complicates things. In his quest for power, the Admiral has enraged the maidens, making it dangerous to be human in maighdean mhara infested waters.

Sam falls hard, suspiciously hard, for Bridget Gillis, a beautiful fortune teller who also happens to be a witch and a member of a coven. The village that encompasses the coven was founded by Bridget's great-great aunt, also named Bridget and a dead ringer for her descendant. The new relationship quickly gets complicated. It is two days before Halloween, and Bridget is about to be tried by her fellow witches for the crime of practicing dark magic involving the blood of children. The punishment is to be burned at the stake. Bridget needs an advocate, and Sam is the perfect man for the job.

Sam brings in Bob, who is suspicious of his best buddy's sudden passion. The two of them have until the Witching Hour on Halloween to clear Bridget's name and find out who is killing the local children. As they comb the area for clues, quiz the locals, and take a crash course in witchcraft and Wiccan customs, Sam and Bob can't shake the question: is Bridget a good witch or a bad witch?

The Wiccan Witch of the Midwest is the fourth Samuel Roberts Thriller.

Title: THE SIRENS OF FALKELD
Genre: YA Fantasy
Format: mobi, epub, pdf
Date Published: June 2015

Blurb:

Nigel Edwards Hello. I'm looking for UK-based reviewers for my forthcoming novel Shun House. I plan to publish the book sometime in the New Year.

Here is the synopsis:
Shun House is a Gothic romance (of sorts) in around 90,000 words (about 170 pages). It tells the tale of Marquis Raphael Vaskapu – last of an ancient dynasty searching for a way to ensure the future of the bloodline – and Joseph Harrow – butler, valet and chief servant to the family. The Vaskapu dynasty is a half-breed race whose blood is said to be mixed with that of dragons from mythic prehistory. The local populace fears the Vaskapu, believing they hunt and prey on the people of the region.

The time period is a very loose amalgam of (mainly) 17th and 18th centuries. Geographically, the setting is a fictionalised north of England. Shun House – bastardised from Benediction House, the property’s original name – is an edifice in stone, a mansion built on top of cliffs overlooking the fishing village of Hook.

Much of the story is told from Harrow’s perspective. He is a complicated man, intensely loyal to the Vaskapu but plagued by a vengeful conscience – which manifests in the ‘haunt’. Harrow is a fatalist, believing himself destined (owing to his predilection for cruel and perverse gratification) for an eternity of torment when he dies.

To set the scene, Marquis Rafael receives a communiqué from an Iberian count introducing Rafael to Contessa Adelina Lupita Serpa Cantabria. The marquis sends for her in the hope they might wed and produce heirs. The contessa arrives by ship at the start of the year. She is 18 years old, beautiful, haughty, petulant. She is accompanied by her guardian, Señorita Constanza, who has cared for Adelina since birth. Constanza is tall and aristocratic – although she has no blood relationship with Adelina – and classically beautiful.

In due course the contessa and the marquis fall in love and marry. Meanwhile, Constanza falls equally in love with Harrow. He is more reticent with his affections, but eventually he too falls under her spell.

Shun House lies within the duchy of Umberland. The present duke, Percival, is in debt to the Vaskapu, a burden he wants desperately to be rid of. The duke sends for aid from a clan living on the continent (think Romania) who have a reputation for confronting and defeating ‘monsters’ like the Vaskapu.

The clan, family name Kárpáti, arrive and assail Shun House. Harrow is charged with the safety of Adelina, and guides her, together with Constanza and others away from Shun House. They end up in the castle of Duke Umberland where Adelina – also descended from dragons, and now pregnant – is not only confronted by the Kárpáti, but also receives the attentions of the duke, who proposes to her. Adelina will have none of this, and exacts retribution upon both the duke and the Kárpáti.
~~~
Shun House is a strong story that some will not find easy to read. It deals with death, cruelty and the torture of innocents, though I hope I've dealt with these topics sensitively. The key characters are well rounded – but I can’t help wondering with which, if any, the reader will fully empathise. All the characters have feet of clay.
In the telling of this tale I sprinkle Spanish and Romanian/Hungarian words/phrases but these are languages I do not speak, and so would appreciate any input from native speakers.
~~~
I am in love with the English language and my style of writing may, I confess, be construed as a little old fashioned. I love the literature of Dickens, Verne and Tolkien, as well as Shelley and Stoker, and these undoubtedly influence my writing.
~~~
Please send an email to "angrywildlegends AT yahoo DOT co DOT uk". Please would you mark the subject line of your eamail "Offer to Review Shun House".
For the first 4 people who provide a good quality review (good or bad, as long as it is constructive), and where that review is also published on Goodreads, I will provide a signed paperback copy after publication (postage costs explains why I can only accept UK reviewers, and also why I am restricting the reward to 4 reviewers only).
Thank you in advance,
Nigel Edwards.
Thomas Locke Hi,
I have a fantasy book, MERCHANT OF ALYSS, coming out January 5, 2016, and I’d like to invite you to review it on Goodreads and Amazon in exchange for a free copy (either an ARC, NetGalley digital copy, or the final paperback edition). Interested?
If so, please sign up as a reviewer on my website http://tlocke.com/launch-team-signup-... by November 27th.
A bit about MERCHANT OF ALYSS: It’s book 2 in the best-selling Legends of the Realm fantasy series, and continues the adventures of Hyam, the hero of EMISSARY. In MERCHANT, Hyam discovers an ancient Milantian scroll and feels the resurgence of his magical power.
The Legends of the Realm series is written in the style of epic fantasy classics by J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. While the books are not faith-based, they are published by a major CBA publisher (Revell), and are considered “family-friendly.” There’s no foul language or graphic sex scenes, making the books appropriate for older teens through adult readers.
If you have any questions, please email my online marketing manager, Laura Christianson: laura@bloggingbistro.com, and she’ll take care of you.
Thanks so much!
Warmly,
Thomas Locke
Derek Ailes Zombie Park
I am looking for honest reviews in exchange for a free copy of Zombie Park by Mark Cusco Ailes. Zombie Park is book one from the Z-Day Trilogy. If anyone is interested, please message me or email me at derekailes2003@comcast.net. I can provide most formats including epub, pdf and mobi (kindle).
Here's the blurb from Amazon.
TAKE THE BOOK JURASSIC PARK - REMOVE THE DINOSAURS - REPLACE THEM WITH ZOMBIES
Ben Cutler just wants an honest way to make a lot of money! Unemployed and on the short end of the employment stick, he knows his chances of getting a traditional job is slim to never. Ever resourceful and always a forward thinker, Ben comes up with a brilliant idea—Zombie Park! Create a park with zombies, sell tickets and people will come by the hundreds. To his surprise, one of the richest men in the world backs his project and makes Ben an instant millionaire!
Scientists Nicholas and Kathy Hollman have been commissioned by General Wilbur Poe to create “smart zombies” to be used on the battlefield instead of live soldiers. With glory in his eyes, Nicholas is determined to not only create the formula, but cut his wife out of the equation and take all the credit himself. Unfortunately for Nicholas, Kathy is the brain behind everything they do.
Robert Forenstein has found the perfect cover for the smart zombie project in Ben Cutler’s Zombie Park. He and General Poe will make America the first country to use zombies as weapons of mass destruction and make billions in the process! As with all plans, everyone has their own agenda and the Zombie Park project is no different. The plan rapidly unravels as Nicholas botches the experiments and is inadvertently creating an army of out of control zombies. With a trail of bodies in their wake, neither the Hollmans nor Forenstein realize the true motives behind General Poe’s zombie army…and it ain’t to save the world!
Zombie Park is phenomenal! I don't even like most zombie books because they don't make a lot of sense, but this one held grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go until the very end! I hope you have part two ready because readers are going to beat down your door to get the next installment! This book is crying for a movie adaptation!
Abe Lincoln On Acid by Brian Anthony
Abe Lincoln On Acid
By Brian Anthony & Bill Walker
Publisher: Walker & Anthony Publications
Release Date: July 1, 2016
ISBN: 978-0989745772
ASIN: B01FV4W6MO
Genre: Paranormal Alternate History
There are whispers even now that Abraham Lincoln never really died, that a voodoo spell cursed him with a terrible eternal life. It has even been claimed that he robbed banks in the 1930s with John Dillinger, only to mysteriously disappear once again into the pages of history. But the truth is even stranger than the rumors...
Watched over by a vengeful J. Edgar Hoover and held in a secret location near his old Springfield home, Lincoln re-awakens in the 1960s, and finds himself thrust into an era even more turbulent than the Depression, a time where a divisive war is once again tearing a nation apart and political intrigue and assassinations are rampant.
Escaping Hoover’s clutches with a clever bit of deception, he navigates an even more treacherous and unfamiliar terrain, finding an ally in John Voci, a young San Francisco folk-singer. Together they journey across a counter-cultural landscape, meeting those who believe a great man has returned, and striving to remain free from those who want to bury him once and for all.
Will Lincoln inspire the younger generation and save his country from its final reckoning, or will he turn on, tune in, and drop out?
