esther archerlakhani Hi Everyone!

I've recently self-published my first book, The Safekeeper, a YA Fantasy Sci Fi.
The Safekeeper
The Safekeeper by Esther Archer Lakhani
Alien invasion. Body-snatching. Intergalactic warfare. A whole mess of secrets all twisted together to make a laugh-out-loud, can't put down, race to the end because you can't wait to find out how 15-year-old Macy Steward will keep her family and friends (and maybe even the entire world) safe from those sneakily encroaching beings of the universe type of book!

Looking forward to sharing our stories,
Esther Archer Lakhani

Trana Mathews In mid-January, I self-published Dr. Increase: Mathews Family Saga Book 2. Like my first novel, The Mathews Family, this work is historical fiction based upon known facts and actual letters between family members. In 1798 Increase kept a journal as he traveled from Massachusetts to visit relatives who had settled in the Northwest Territory. His uncle, Brigadier-General Rufus Putnam, played a key role in settling Ohio and is known as the "Father of Ohio." Besides visiting his uncle, older brother John, and sister Susannah Stone, Increase joins his brother-in-law's surveying expedition outside of Gallipolis in the area now called Athens. The words of this 18th century man provide a remarkable insight into American history and reveal life as it was during this time.

Thanks, Rebecca! When I first started, I didn't realize that Marietta College held any personal letters. John Mathews kept a journal when he surveyed for the Confederated Congress in 1786, and this was used in Hildreth's Pioneer History: Being an Account of the First Examinations of the Ohio Valley, and the Early Settlement of the Northwest Territory. Reviewing the holdings of the John Mathews's Collection, one historian mentioned a line from a letter between the brothers. Curious I contacted Special Collections and received transcripts of letters that Hildreth had collected. What a treasure! These changed the focus of my first novel from my 3x great-grandfather to his entire family.

Cendrine Marrouat Hello everyone!

Seizing the Bygone Light: A Tribute to Early Photography

"Seizing the Bygone Light: A Tribute to Early Photography" is out today!

The medium of limitless possibilities that is photography has been with us for almost 200 years.

Despite its great advancements, its early days still influence and dazzle a majority of professional photographers and artists. Such is the case of Cendrine Marrouat, Hadiya Ali and David Ellis, three members of the PoArtMo Collective.

The result? "Seizing the Bygone Light: A Tribute to Early Photography." This unique collection of artistic styles brings together different innovative concepts of both gripping writing and stunning visual imagery.

In the first part of the book, photographer and painter Ali introduces us to two of her favorite photographers by reimagining and recreating images in the nature of her photographic idols -- Irving Penn and Karl Blossfeldt.

In the second part, photographer, poet, and author Marrouat shares a selection of her reminigrams, a digital style that she personally created to honor and pay homage to the early days of photography.
Author and poet Ellis rounds things off with a series of pareiku poems (the poetry form he co-created with Marrouat), offering fresh outlooks for his sincere, heartfelt adoration of photography of the past.

A fascinating and compelling book, "Seizing the Bygone Light: A Tribute to Early Photography" will leave you with a deep sense of appreciation and a greater understanding of photography.

PoArtMo Collective is a gathering of inspirational artists, writers and photographers that combine their talents to produce positive, mixed media projects that stimulate the minds of the people who delve into them.

message 33: by P.L. (last edited Jan 15, 2022 10:12AM) (new)

P.L. Tavormina Hey there,

Happy Saturday. Last week, I released a single-viewpoint coming-of-age story, novella-length. Prequel... so ... first in series?

The idea was to use the familiar structure of a young adult looking for excitement in the big city and falling in love, as a frame to introduce the larger universe.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09...

Some of the feedback on my novels included wanting a better sense of the world at the outset. My hope is this novella can provide that, and that anyone who enjoys the world can continue on into the novels more easily.

Discover the world of Turaset

In a remote country village, seventeen-year-old Celeste yearns for excitement. When the bright lights of a distant city beckon, she makes her way there, and city folk show Celeste more of the world than she ever imagined.

But these people have their reasons to cozy up to a country teenager, because Celeste’s family carries an ancient genetic ability to track carbon emissions by sight. The trait is powerful enough to undercut Turaset’s oil industry, and the titan running that industry wants Celeste’s family killed. Soon, she realizes how out of her depth she is.

Seven Strengths is an otherworldly but familiar coming-of-age story. It highlights the enduring strength borne of family and friends.

For half the price of a latte, you can escape covid and all the rest that we're struggling through, here on Earth. Enjoy!

Johnathon Nicolaou NEW FANTASY SERIES - THE LOST ARTEFACTS

Hi all, I’m Johnathon - a huge lover of reading and writing books!

My book The Chain Between Worlds has so far been well received, rating quite highly (4.9 on Goodreads at the moment as well as sitting quite highly on some popular lists on listopia), but unfortunately I haven't had the reach to get it out there to the readers of the world. If you love Fantasy novels you'll love my book. It's got mystery, adventure, twists and turns, betrayals (*gasp*) and of course romance.

You can find it on my website: https://johnathonnicolaoucreations.com

or

on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/s?i=digital...

or

on Kobo: https://www.kobo.com/au/en/ebook/the-...

Synopsis:
Runner up in the 2021 TCK Publishing Reader’s Choice Awards: Fantasy Genre

At the age of five Lincoln was abandoned inexplicably at an orphanage by his father with nothing but a promise to return and an old wrist chain. 11 years later when seemingly ordinary 16-year-old Lincoln runs away from yet another foster home, heading to his favoured spot in New York City, he is attacked by a dog, a monstrous three headed dog the size of a truck. Becoming marked, a string of attacks follow, only ending when he is saved by El, Ben, and AJ, a group of enhanced people known as Ascendants. Discovering the world is not as it seems, with Sorcerers, Nature Spirits and demonic monsters all hiding in plain sight, he learns that he is a long-lost Ascendant himself; discovering that the chain his father left him was at the centre of a conspiracy that resulted in his abandonment and his father’s subsequent disappearance.

Lynn Helton Hello all!

I recently released a new novel, book 1 in my new fantasy series The Deliberia Chronicles.

Crystalborne Sigils (The Deliberia Chronicles, #1) by S. Lynn Helton Crystalborne Sigils

When a battered ship unlike any seen before in the Atturei Empire sails into the harbor of Hawei—bringing with it the secret and proscribed—and inexplicable afflictions begin to plague the town, Gyasi fears he can no longer keep the secret of his forbidden magic.

message 39: by Maxime (new)

Maxime Jaz I recently released Omnia Vincit Amor, a dark, queer, erotic romance set in Ancient Rome.

Kyle, a young Celtic slave, is given as a gift to Commander Marius, a Roman noble with an unruly temper, during one of his visits to a countryside noble's home. Against all odds, love blooms between dominus and slave as they navigate the intrigues of Rome, Marius' duties as a patrician and a military leader, and all the obstacles that their enemies throw in their paths.
As past traumas surface, both men fight their inner demons, while darkness and raging emotions try to tear them apart. Will their love prevail in the midst of intrigue and pain? Will it heal their many wounds?

Omnia Vincit Amor is evocative of Ancient Rome during Trajan's reign, albeit with a fictitious emperor. An epic tale of scorching love, grief, and breath-taking adventures, it is not for the faint-hearted, and will leave you crying tears of pain and joy.

The trilogy deals with dark and mature content, and contains explicit scenes.

Jasmine I was teased in my younger days because my skin was dark. I remember crying a lot running home telling my parents what happened at school. I have two children now I remember the exact moment when my son told me some other kid was making fun of a girl because of her skin color. I thought to myself this has to stop. I need to reach out to the many children out there and remind them they are beautiful.
I released my book “Black Crayon”. I’m so excited about this !!
