I’ve had a few duds lately !! I’m sorry this didn’t work for you, but I love your review !
Thanks Laura! My third dud in a month or so! But prior to that I had a great run of like 3 or 4 in a row that were great with 2 being 5 stars. It’s how it goes. :)
Yes, I felt the exact same way about this book. I bought it because the premise sounded like something right up my alley, but halfway through the book I DNF'd precisely because of all the reasons listed in your review. Too many run on sentences, lists of birds or attributes of birds, loss of direction, and not much narrative buried in all the descriptions. Where there was dialogue and character interaction and introspection, it was great, but there were very few of those moments. I hate abandoning a book, but I struggled to keep going and ultimately had to put it down.
