I have a bad feeling about this...
This makes me think of Throne of Glass? Chaol 2(the assasin) and Dorian 2(the prince) are coming after Celaena 2 (her name is Lia). I just hope there's no insta love.
Chaol the guard though. And I read this and it's totally different. I loved this book, it went from historic fiction to epic quest. Lia is a badass
I was going to stay away from this because the idea of not knowing which man is the assassin and which is the prince sounded extremely irritating but now you have fully convinced me to not read this!
First: this might just be my new favorite review of yours. I feel like the maid servant would be the more interesting character than the MC here for some reason. Don't know why though. AND what's with the love triangle trend going? Is it really the in thing now? Good thing, I'm taking a break from YA.
second: I been wanting to read this one and now I can cross that off my tbr pile.
third: what's with these assassins. Valek and Durzo Blint would be shaking their heads at their so called assassin...ness. Even Celeana, like her or hate her, did her job at least...to some extent?
Fourth: You just read my mind with the chorus part. I felt like punching her in the face as well and haven't even read the freaking book.
five: nice. rocking the robe look.
Yeah, this one. It had so much potential...yet the love triangle did it in and then some. I loved your review style for this one, btw. Great job.
Thanks, everyone!
I do wear a blanket to work. I wear it around the office pinned to my clothes like a cape. It's cold lol. Nobody cares.
Son of a bitch. Khanh, I'm going to start having you check out books before I request them. LOL
*grumbles about having for review*
LMAO!! You're right!
I need to quit judging books by their pretty covers and enticing blurbs. *le sigh*
I want to say I told you so, but I've decided that you have suffered enough. But that was your best review to date, if I must say. Absolutely amazing. I nearly cried and everything.
Hahaha! Amazing review!!! I sometimes wonder if some authors know which genre they are writing about.
Great review!
Portia is actually Pauline, Khanh. :)
I actually liked this book, but yeah, you're right about how slow paced it is. And the assassin not being very assassin-y. Plus the dudes aren't identified until later in so it's really hard to form any sort of attachment to either one. Honestly if there's gong to be a male assassin in YA, he should resemble Valek a bit. ;)
Thank you for the very funny review. You have brightened my day as always.
This sounds hilariously bad! I share your peeve for "high fantasy" that is basically medieval but set in a fictional country. That does not constitute a fantasy, high or otherwise!
Thanks, Rebecca, fixed :)
I couldn't tell the assassin and the prince apart, despite how different their personalities were. That's pretty bad.
I think the book worth more than 1 star. :/
It made you reply the best review ever. Really, my laughter can't die. *hats raised*
Lia: See, see..I deserve more than one star! I deserve a million. :p
You really, really need to publish a book with all your freaking amazing reviews in it!!! I swear it would fly off the shelves! I think I may just stop reading books and just stick to your blogs:). Brilliant.
I no longer think anything under the YA tree understands the meaning of the word assassin. It's been diluted. Everyone is suddenly a bloody assassin and all I see is frolicking and love love love. My eye twitches every time I see that word now. It's lost all it's damn meaning.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was confused as to how the Assassin and Prince ran into one another, when one clearly lives bloody half way around the region thing. I love a good "map in book" and everything but, in this case, it just defeats the purpose and makes the book seem purposely stupid =__=

I knew when I read the blurb that this wasn't for me >_> that and some other reviews. Thanks for the entertainment.
Your review of this book has not disappointed me.
I actually have this. And you mean to tell me all she does is work a waitress. Are you shitting me. Assassins. I'm totally steering clear of anything with assassin in it these days.
These hoes ain't loyal.
