Mary Lyons This book is definitely THE book to read if someone wants a concise introduction to the laborers who built the Blue Ridge Tunnel. For much more about that passage and the other three tunnels on the Blue Ridge Railroad, see if your local library has The Virginia Blue Ridge Railroad book. Or, if you own an Apple device, you can read chief engineer Claudius Crozet’s own words in Claudius Crozet and the Blue Ridge Railroad: Selected Letters. This multi-touch ebook is available through the Apple Bookstore. It contains about 100 enlargeable historic images and is instantly searchable. Simply type “surveying” or “geology” in the search field to access the many times he mentioned these subjects. In other words, there’s much more for curious readers to explore!
