Elle im sorry you’re dealing with brain dead gooners who fail to see how twisting classic mlm literature written by a man jailed for being gay into a MF romance is tone deaf at the best and homophobic at the worst (yes even if the woman is queer) like it is that serious dont pmo

Watch as the author twists it and claims I said "MF can't be queer" 🤪 (she really did tweet that after people pointed it out). Like I feel like she should have at least listened to gay readers about this one (No I don't mean queer, I mean GAY)

Laura Okay so they're both queer, so what? It's still taking a classic work of gay literature, which was censored for its gayness, written by an author who went to prison for BEING gay, and rewriting the central relationship so it's being a man and a woman. Like, maybe they have background relationships with people of the same gender, but the happy ending is them together. It's disrespectful.

Kate Elizabeth Louder for the people in the back girl, I DONT CARE about them being queer it’s still straight passing and TONE DEF given the actual history and HISTORICAL CONTEXT surrounding the classic story and authors actual arrests for being BEING GAY!!!!! Like for real I’m so sorry but a retelling making them opposite genders so they get a HEA? It’s not biphobia it’s fucking tone def and insulting to claim as such given the actual biphobia people experience.

Kate Elizabeth also respectfully if that’s actually the authors account on the first comment she Should NOT be interacting with readers in reveiws spaces like this on a negative review do that on an alt account not a public facing one this has literally been something talked abt at length online

I'm tired of "retelling" authors churching out shitttttt. But that's all she writes so like I think piggybacking off of other stories is the only thing she can do! That, and misunderstanding critique to the point she goes on a self righteous ramble about some strawman situation she made up. Gay readers brought this up to her and she twisted it as "omg i'm being attacked bc someone said MF can't be queer!"
