Jared Sullivan Kate: I found your note very moving. Thank you for taking the time to read Valley So Low. I share many of your conflicting feelings regarding TVA. My book is obviously very critical of the organization — but I know it has done a lot of good over the years, and even today I don't think it's all bad. I do think it's in desperate need of reform and that it needs to compensate the Kingston workers for their loss. But, ultimately, I'm rooting for TVA; I want it to be great.

I recently shared some my thoughts about TVA with the 99% Invisible podcast if you care to listen. The episode is called "Valley So Low." You can find it on iTunes or Spotify.

At any rate, thank you for reading the book. It means a great deal to me that folks from Kingston have generally enjoyed it.

As a 99% Invisible fan already, I listened as soon as it dropped! It was a great episode. I'm also a high school librarian in Roane County and just ordered a copy of the book to add to my library collection. It's such an important part of our history, and I truly think you did such a phenomenal job covering it.
