J.C. Bryer Thanks for your review! Sorry you were confused... is there anything I can clear up? <3

The second-person narrators in this series are generally neurodivergent and going through some stuff... the narrative style is very much meant to reflect their emotional state, as well as 'who' the story is being told 'to'. I hope that helps. :)

rylan i think it was 2nd person narrator that i wasn’t used to it wasn’t bad i just kept getting lost on where the story was going

J.C. Bryer Well, that's mostly by design... I definitely want to write stories that make a lasting impression. :)

***Spoiler warning: in case it still didn't make sense...

There are clues in the beginning:
Court/putting money on the books
Bloodstains, the smell of puke
Not wanting to go home
Everyone seems to understand something she won't mention
The zombie asks her if "he" is in there when she goes to get her things
She doesn't scream/react when she is afraid; "I never screamed like that for you"
She only fights back when she feels safe; "you don't like us anymore?"
In the last few pages she says her husband is in jail
One of the zombies leaves (to take the trailer and burn it)

So the whole story is what she says as she's leaving a voicemail for her ex; basically "since you have a history of domestic violence, you're going to be the main suspect... so when [the police] ask, tell them the zombies ate me."

(As in, you're going to sound crazy, and it's going to seem like you did it... so don't try to find me.)

I appreciate the time you took to read and review the story. Thank you. <3
