Hi, all. I've been absent with Covid the past few days, but I'm feeling more human now that I've started Paxlovid. I'm catching up with things today. Nice to see that we have a couple of new members. Feel free to invite your friends to check out the group, and your suggestions for making it better or more user-friendly are always welcome. Take care.
Hey all.I am around too, but the job took a turn into Hell. If you need anything or have any suggestions, feel free to reach out.
Scout and Papa--you are doing a fantastic job moderating the new group. I appreciate your brains and am learning from you.
Thank you. The two of us are always looking for ideas and debate topics. This group works due to the people.

I invited quite a few of my contacts to join this group , and they did, but haven't introduced themselves yet. One is a Canadian. Please introduce yourselves. . we would really like more voices to speak up. Now is the time.
Interesting you mention a Canadian. I just created a new folder for those of us that are not American.

We had several Canadians in the small private college I attended many years ago and they never referred to themselves as Americans either, although obviously Canadians live in No. America too. We were Americans, they were Canucks.
So, in my 1st Sally Nimitz mystery when I had a situation where this came up, I held to my observation.
And later a reader from Canada wrote to me, very irate, and asked me, did I not realize Canada is in North America???

I have had this discussion more than once. It is actually very funny for me. You can certainly refer to a region such a North America, South America, Latin America or Central America. Yet when one refers to America, it is the United States. So I love poking the bear by telling those they are not Americans. Americans are not referred to United Statesians.....
