This first book is very detailed in the world building and character profiles throughout. As the first book in a long series, I felt it was important to add a lot of detail in this first book to set the stage for the rest of the series and make sure that the roots were deeply planted to ensure that the characters really come alive. Books 2, 3, and 4 will drop soon. I hope you enjoy them just as much!

I just won this book in a giveaway which I am excited about but I noticed there are content warnings of rape and graphic violence. I didn’t see these content warnings until after I won the book. Usually I try to stay away from descriptions related to things like that. Can this book still be for me (can I somehow skip these parts) or is it not a good idea to try to read this book? With what little I have read I was starting to enjoy myself right off the bat.

It is based on my own experience with sexual trauma and how experiencing trauma can be transmuted into transcendence. It is not meant to glorify it or be gratuitous. I hope you enjoy the read.
