You have made me think of Philip Larkin's 'This Be The Verse'. Place that alongside W H Auden's 'Johnny' which features unquoted as a repetitive theme in Queer Me! and I realise I might just have created a story that said "Read this, and then read that. The End" - what a brilliant précis that would be! Or would that be too self serving!
