I was pretty ticked off at the ending. Not like Sandford to do this.

Without spoiling the ending for others, he has done something similar in at least two earlier Davenport books.

I've read them all, but there are so many and during a long period of time, I can't recall the two you are talking about. I just don't remember Sandford doing this.
I agree. Took a decent story and then left it hanging. Disappointing.
I was hoping it was gonna lead to part 2.
I suspect Sandford will wrap up some loose ends in his next book. You may not like his choice to leave things hanging at the end of Lethal Prey, but I think he’s earned the benefit of the doubt. I’ll withhold judgment until then.
