Without spoiling the ending for others, he has done something similar in at least two earlier Davenport books.

I've read them all, but there are so many and during a long period of time, I can't recall the two you are talking about. I just don't remember Sandford doing this.

Biebwaxman I agree. Took a decent story and then left it hanging. Disappointing.

Lane I suspect Sandford will wrap up some loose ends in his next book. You may not like his choice to leave things hanging at the end of Lethal Prey, but I think he’s earned the benefit of the doubt. I’ll withhold judgment until then.
