A novel about what it means for a young girl to grow up in a house where there is domestic violence. It is hard to read but the protagonist is such a strong character, even though she is just fifteen years old, that the reader will want to cheer her on in her struggle to make sense of her life and her family ties. I think this novel is aimed at Young Adults, however, there is no title on the cover of the ebook, or author name, which is odd. I like to know what I’m going to read about, and I think a title and subtitle would go a long way to encourage readers to read the book. The author, Lainy J.Thomas, has a very engaging writing style and gets into the character, Aimee, from page 1. YA and other readers will be immediately drawn into Aimee’s story. I breathed a sigh of relief at the end.
