Hank Early Hey all, just a quick note about my debut that drops on Tuesday, November 7. It's called Heaven's Crooked Finger. Here's a quick summary from Publisher's Weekly:

"Earl Marcus, the narrator of Early’s highly atmospheric debut and series launch, grew up in the North Georgia mountains, where his father, Ronald Jackson Marcus, the preacher at the Church of the Holy Flame, encouraged snake handling. As a teen, Earl nearly died after he was bitten by a cottonmouth and his father “refused to take me to a hospital and had instead left it to God to decide my fate.” Earl left home and now, years later, works as a PI in Charlotte, N.C. A month after a body identified as Roland’s is found in the woods, Earl gets a letter from Bryant McCauley, one of his father’s most fervent supporters, with a photo suggesting that Ronald is still alive. Earl reluctantly returns to his birthplace, where, over much opposition, he seeks McCauley, who’s disappeared, and his elusive father. Earl also gets on the trail of some missing teenage girls. Readers with a taste for raw, intense mysteries will be rewarded."

The novel received a starred review from Kirkus and it's been selected to Bookish.com's must read fall mysteries (https://www.bookish.com/articles/must...).

I hope you'll check it out! Thanks!

Hank

Mary Hi, I'm Mary and I just released my 9th book, Lost in Whispers (2 Dori O. Paranormal Mystery Series) by Mary Castillo !

Don't call Dori a psychic even though this tough detective can see and talk to the dead! Bloggers and reviewers, contact me via DM on GoodReads or email (mary@marycastillo.com) if you'd like to review the book.

From the back of the book:
In her new book, Detective Dori Orihuela makes the arrest of her career within the filth-smeared walls of a dilapidated home. Among the drugs and weaponry, she meets the ghost of a pregnant woman whose warning saves her life. Dori goes back to her happy life with her boyfriend, Gavin and his precocious daughter. But the ghost doesn’t just follow her home, it found its way inside her.

In 1942, Roslyn Snow arrives from Pearl Harbor with her discharge papers and a baby she’s giving up for adoption. Hiding the shame of their unplanned pregnancies in what was once a magnificent private estate, Roslyn and her fellow patients wait out their terms. She must be on guard to hide her real identity, the father of her child and protect her heart that wants to care for these forgotten girls.

Disturbed by the visions and drawings written in a hand that is not her own, Dori finds help from her best friend, Meg and an eccentric cemetery manager, Richard. But as Dori explores her gift to communicate with the dead, she is exposed to those who could destroy everything and everyone she loves.

Nancy Silverman Hi, my name is Nancy Cole Silverman and I’m the voice behind The Carol Childs Mysteries. Tm a former talk radio exec, and as we all know, authors write of what they know. So, when I retired to write fiction I thought what better place to set my novels than inside a busy talk radio station. The very nature of the medium, where it’s never possible to see the person talking, is mysterious. Add to that Carol Childs, a single, middle-aged, mom whose trying to establish herself as a reporter, expose her to a murder, and a series of mysterious callers who call in to talk and, well you get the idea, things happen. Some funny. Some not so much so. Best of all, many of the plot lines I’ve pulled from stories I knew firsthand from working inside some of Los Angeles’ busy newsrooms where listeners would call in with leads and anonymous statements like, “I’d never tell the cops, but I’ll tell you....” I hope you’ll Tune in.

Kirsten McKenzie Hi Chelsea, thanks for this thread. Keeps it nice and tidy!

My first thriller is Painted:

Painted by Kirsten McKenzie

If art can capture a soul, what happens when one of those souls escapes?

When art appraiser Anita Cassatt is sent to catalogue the extensive collection of reclusive artist Leo Kubin, it isn’t only the chilly atmosphere of the secluded house making her shiver, it's more the silent audience of portraits clustered on every wall watching her.

Kubin’s lawyer didn’t share the detailed instructions regarding the handling of the art, and Anita and her team start work in ignorance of the very instructions designed to keep them safe. Safe from the art.

And in the dark, the portraits stir as the subjects ease themselves out of their frames and stretch, free at last from the confines of paint and canvas which they have no intention of ever returning to. They have a painting to finish and the people in the house will only be in the way...

Josh Griffith Hi, everyone! Chelsea, thanks for creating this terrific thread. I've got a series of detective books (The Jason Chance Novels) about a Los Angeles Sheriff's homicide detective working the dark underside of Hollywood. THIS LONELY TOWN, THIS SECRET TOWN, and THIS FAITHLESS TOWN. Also two stand-alone suspense novels, THE FORGOTTEN PLACE and THE LOST MAN. Fan reviews have been stellar! "Fast paced and hard to put down." "Jason Chance is a cut above the usual hard nosed detective found in crime thrillers." "Characters are interesting and real; and the plot has just enough twists to keep you guessing. THIS SECRET TOWN is one of the best books I've read in quite a while." "If you enjoy a great mystery, no doubt this is a book tor you!" "On par with Michael Connelly. A compelling read start to finish."

C.M. Arnold Hello everyone,

I will be releasing my debut novel, Dial 323 LOVE, in March. It is the first installment in a four-book series following a young man as he navigates the emotional pitfalls and moral impasses of his newfound occupation.

AJ Brooks is waiting tables and attending college in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee with the hopes of one day breaking into the entertainment industry as a screenwriter. However, when a woman dangling his dreams in front of him lures him to Los Angeles, he is quickly reeled into a new career role, and his once modest life is changed forever. That woman is Maggie Hunter, a magnifying and manipulative madam who runs a high-end male escort service in Southern California.

This is my first week with an "author account," meaning I am brand new to this and looking for reviews! If any authors in the group want to exchange ARCs please don't hesitate to let me know.

message 44: by Harvey (new)

Harvey Church Hi, I'm not a huge fan of self-promotion, but here goes:

My name is Harvey Church and I'm a recovering banker. These days, I write mysteries and suspense novels. My latest novel, The Last Friend, was published by Kindle Press (yay!) but I still really like self-publishing and plan to remain a hybrid as long as possible (again, the recovering banker, recovering control freak, recovering "I wanna pretend I'm in business" weirdo in me makes this possible).

I thought I'd post here because my first light mystery, Alibi Aficionado, is listed for an ebook giveaway on Goodreads. I would love nothing more than to give all available 100 copies to the people in this group who have been able to keep me up-to-date on the best novels hitting people's hands today (thank you! And if you ever add The Wife Between Us, my CR, or any of the others I've recently read, maybe I'll be able to pay it forward for someone else who has too much on their TBR).

Because I'm not a big self-promoter, I not 100% sure what you need to do to enter a giveway, so please check it out here to be sure: https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/enter_kindle_giveaway/277124-alibi-aficionado-a-gripping-and-humorous-mystery-novel-featuring-edwin.

About Alibi Aficionado (or AA)
AA is the first in the Edwin Burrows mystery series. Edwin is a CPA, and a terrible one at that (failed his exams twice, but third time's a charm) whose boss hates him. That hatred is further fueled when the boss sees Edwin leaving his daughter's apartment (the boss doesn't know that Edwin saved her from getting beaten (saving her life, as Edwin recalls it) by her boyfriend. Nonetheless, the boss wants him out, so he assigns Edwin an impossible task: follow a paper trail and find an alibi for the firm's top client. Not liking the client, and believing he's guilty, Edwin half-asses the task until he realizes just how crucial the alibi is... not only to his own job, but to the firm's very existence. Will Edwin find the alibi needed to not only save the firm's client but the firm itself? Or will he fail, like everyone expects?

Here's the link to the giveaway again: (https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/enter_kindle_giveaway/277124-alibi-aficionado-a-gripping-and-humorous-mystery-novel-featuring-edwin). The novel is currently rated 4.22 stars on GR (I'm humbled by this because it was my first novel).

About My Other Novels:
I'm really proud of The Last Friend. It will be on sale from February 8 to 15 at $0.99 according to an email I received from Kindle Press last week. You're the first to know.

About that novel, Publishers Weekly's Booklife Prize said: "an entertaining read for mystery and thriller fans alike." Which isn't all that exciting, but their other quote was: "an unexpected and exciting series of events that will grab readers."

Here's the Goodreads link to The Last Friend: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36191063-the-last-friend

Hope that wasn't salesy or annoying (albeit, it certainly was long). If you have any questions, ask away and thanks for tolerating my self-promotional post!

Please help me make this a success by downloading and recommending to as many people as possible. For those who never saw any of my posts, this is a kicking spy/political thriller.
Plus, by reviewing on Amazon - you can have a character named after you, in my next novel.

Many thanks!
