I completely agree! And I can't believe I forgot about this book. This was by far my fav of his as well, brought back good memories seeing this LOL. Morbid eh?
I feel like with all I've read at age 30 Pike's novels still seem so original and well developed! Makes me want to go back and reread everything!
The first book of his I read was The Witch and I loved it. This one is in second for me. I wish I had saved all of my originals !
I think you and I share that about him. I remember having a fat stack of his that I had to donate when I moved. Sucks, but now I can look forward to re-augmenting my Pike collection. I want to start with this one.
This too was my first CP read. When I was much younger I read the complete series, but none of them compared to this one. Now as a Middle School ELA teacher, I am going to introduce OUR Generation of books to them. Last year our group read was "The Wrong Number" by R.L. Stine. They loved it and want to read more of his Fear Street books. They loved mysteries and thrillers so I would love to see what they think of this one. Another author that didn't get enough credit in this time was Richie Tankersley Cusick with his book, "April Fool's Day" still sticks to me.
