I'm not sure yet. It doesn't look like each book follows the same characters though so it might just be loosely connected?
This is also a prequel trilogy and I was told that you could read this trilogy before the other (or vice versa). Don't take my word for it though since I haven't read them all though!

C.S. Humble The Peregrine Estate Trilogy (Body, Mission, Baroness) can be read independently, but all three build on each other which leads to That Light Sublime Trilogy (Massacre, Winter, Black Star) which should not be read independently.
