I haven’t watched the show but found the book slightly overrated. It was by no means a bad book but I thought it must be a definite 5 stars book because everyone else loved it so much and it just wasn’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm sure Murderbot would understand preferring a tv show over a book. 🤭

Hi Nia! Not a five stars for me either, but I think this could be one of those series that becomes better as it progresses. I'm happy to say I started book 2 today and the first two chapters were very good. <3 Fingers crossed book 1 is the least strong.

I haven't watched the show, but I found the books I read (1-4, I think) to be rather redundant. They have a charm to them, and I love MB a lot, but I didn't feel compelled to read any further once that first arc of the story was over.

Duly noted, Linda :) I'll report progress as I go through the books (which I never would have picked up if not for the TV show 🤭). I'm curious how many seasons will the TV show get :D Hopefully at least 4 <3

Book 5 (which is set after book 6) has been by far the best in the series so far and a real turning point. I was very bummed you'd dropped the series by the time we read that one, I think you would've liked it.
