The therapyspeak in books lately have become a Thing and it's exhausting already

SPOT ON. The therapyspeak also insults the reader too as if we're too dumb to figure out anything that the book (or author) is saying so it all has to be told and spelled out for us.

Absolutely: I haaaate the feeling I'm being talked down to, which I get a lot in recent romance novels
