From one Jake to another Jake, thank you! Tadamasa Goto wrote a boastful autobiography and another Japanese author I really admire wrote a more accurate biography of the man. I don't know if I'd ever write a biography of him while he was alive, because there is something to be said for letting sleeping dogs lie. The new book in October has nothing to do with yakuza but a lot to do with Japan, Bitcoin and the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto. Check it out. And thanks for the praise for The Last Yakuza--that book was a nightmare to finish. But if you watch the TV series and get to the end, re-read For Whom The Chimes Toll and you'll know where we found the inspiration for the conclusion.
