Esther Smith Hello,
Welcome to Goodreads! It’s great to see your enthusiasm for connecting with fellow book lovers. As an Australian reader with diverse interests, you’re in for a treat.

Since you mentioned chick lit, here are some fantastic Australian chick lit authors you might enjoy:

Georgina Penney: Her books like “Unforgettable You” and “Irrepressible You” offer delightful romance and humor.
Lily Malone: Check out “Fairway to Heaven” for a mix of romance and golf.
Sarah Belle: Her novel “Hindsight” combines mystery and romance.
Sandra Antonelli: “A Basic Renovation” is a charming read.
Ainslie Paton: Both “Grease Monkey Jive” and “Floored” are worth exploring.
Feel free to explore these authors and their works on Goodreads! And don’t hesitate to connect with other readers—making friends through shared book interests is one of the best parts of this platform. Happy reading.

If you have any other book-related requests or need assistance, feel free to ask. https://www-mypascoconnect.com
Best Regards

message 7: by Niharika (new)

Niharika Chakravarty I'm new here on Goodreads and I'd love to connect with people and explore something new to read.
I'm getting back to reading after a long long time so I'm currently a bit slow paced. My goal is to get back into academics after having spent 5 years exploring art.
I'm currently reading classics, literary criticisms, and getting into some online courses that will help me become knowledgeable in english literature, for i intend on teaching school kids.
Let's connect if you have similar book choices and/or like to discuss. I'd really appreciate any help.

Sherrie Miranda Lucinda Skeats Miller,
Welcome!
I hope you find GR an enjoyable place & visit often.
I'm only allowed followers now. (No one told me there was a friendship limit.) But hope to stay in touch.
These are the two books I've written so far:
Sherrie Miranda's "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans" follows the dramatic story of naive, sheltered Shelly going to “The Big Easy” to prepare for El Salvador, but has no idea she will encounter sexism and witness racism as well as illegal activities by government agents.
https://www.amzn.com/dp/B08KMHNNDK
Author, Sherrie Miranda's husband made the trailer for "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans." He wrote the music too.
https://youtu.be/7_NL-V9KEi4
Review: Shelly’s journey in “the city that care forgot.”Sherrie Miranda’s new novel “Crimes and Impunity in New Orleans” puts the reader into a whirlwind of political protests, abusive police, sexist attitudes towards women, and “good old boys” racism in 1980’s New Orleans. Miranda’s second novel follows Shelly, the young northerner, as she quickly finds out that she “isn’t in Kansas anymore” while encountering a slew of picturesque, colorful characters. Reading her book makes you wonder if justice and respect for blacks, immigrants, and women can be reality in America.

In Book 2, "Secrets & Lies in El Salvador," Shelly goes to El Salvador to photograph Salvadorans in the midst of the civil war there. She becomes the keeper of many people's secrets & lies.

Fred Gracely Hey, all! I'm so happy to connect with a group of people who love books! I absolutely love books. I don't think I would have survived my early years if it hadn't been for the escape great books provided me when I really needed it. I'm a SLOW reader (touch of dyslexia), but I think that's part of why I love to write too. I have to process the language, or the words fly by without sinking in. BUT I'm not in this group as a writer. I'm here as a reader. Currently, I'm halfway through North Wing. Other recent books have been The Girl Who Drank the Moon, Water for Elephants, and then A Prayer for Owen Meany (I'm a bit all over the place with what I read).

Stephen Bonniol I am still trying to meet friends on here but I survived death, was given a 1% chance of survival and people gathered to say goodbye. Then I woke up as they were unplugging me! That was four years ago and I have written five books since then, A series of 70s memoirs, a selection of horror shorts, a fantasy novella, a sci-fi love story and an inspirational children's book.
I'd love it anyone ads me or follows me.

hey welcome Lucinda even though I just joined the group 2 seconds ago I'm still feeling comfortable enough to welcome you especially since my mom and me watched Oprah everyday I stayed home with the chicken pox in the 3rd grade for 2 weeks. Oprah practically raised me. I've known only one other Lucinda and she was as cool as a cucumber so we can be book buddies because minus the girl specific stuff I like the same types of books as you. I hope Oprah reads this and see's that I'm being open with saying she's way better at the talk show host thing then Ellen was. And that's no disrespect to the Degenerator. She just aint no Harpo at the end of the day.

message 33: by Arielle (new)

Arielle Miller Hey all! Glad I found this group, this thread and all of you... even if I'm a little late to the party! lol

I'm pretty new to GR and trying to find my footing here... SAHM/educator/author in my 40s, living in LA with three kids and two dogs...

And I just published my first book! Not sure if I'm allowed to post it here, so I'll leave it to you to check out my page if you're interested - it's a post-divorce, post-covid very STEAMY dating memoir :)

Now that I'm taking a break from writing these past few years, I've been so excited to have the time to read more - and find people to talk to about the books!!

Looking forward to connecting more in 2025! :)
