Raymond Elmo "... a bit like a role playing game where the Dungeon Master had way too much time on his hands." -
Well, really, Eric, what's the point of having absolute power over characters and then NOT toying with characters in a cursed tower?
I would have kept them there for years but all the pizza was gone and the whole D&D table rebelled and went home, the quitters.

On a more serious note: thanks for the kind words. "if Gene Wolfe and Peter S. Beagle collaborated on an entry to a picaresque novel contest judged by the ghost of David Lindsay."

Woot!

Eric Tanafon You're welcome. Hopefully our characters never get the chance to toy with us!

"Authors are the dreamers, their creations the dream. A frightening truth when you remember that it is the folk of dreams that toy with the dreamer; teasing and tormenting them. Not the other way round."
