Hello :) I read this interesting post (which Goodreads won't let me link, but you can find if you google "ye olde names regency tumblr) about Regency names that explained (based on parish records of marriages) how prevalent names like Mary/John/Sarah actually were - I think it was something like every third woman was named Mary :D so, in the name of historical accuracy (which I tried really hard to stick to) I seem to have committed a cardinal sin of novel writing :D
