The Talisman > Likes and Comments

I love this "Buddy Reads" idea.
I'm currently reading The Eyes of the Dragon and I will probably finish this by tomorrow 8/8/25... right after that I'm starting The Talisman and would be cool to have a buddy read for that.

I loved The Talisman. I haven't read it in years.

I just made it to Chapter 18 and I'm really thinking of DNF'ing this book. It started out OK, than I got really into the story. There was a chapter that slowed the momentum down considerably, and than I switched to Audible. Now I'm almost completely lost, don't know what is going on and I don't care one way or the other.
The only thing keeping me going at this point is the fact that this is supposed to be important for The Dark Tower reading, I'll give it another few chapters but I might end up just putting this book down. First time that will have happened with a Stephen King book.

I'd say it complements The Dark Tower reading but isn't essential.

But: (view spoiler)[It wasn't until Black House that it became closely associated with The Dark Tower but not in a big way. In that one, the Territories was adjacent to Mid-World, and there's a pretty good one- or two-page summary of The Dark Tower quest. King's discussions on the nearly finished Talisman 3, however, hint that the Territories is Mid-World. (hide spoiler)]

I remember one other Youtube/Booktuber stated that this book wasn't essential either, but I added it to the list... I think I was kind of curious to read a King collaboration and see if I could feel the difference - I can lol.
I will continue reading... Jack and Wolf are at the movies and it's not a terrible chapter, hopefully it picks back up from here!
(Desperation and Regulators were also deemed NON-essential, so I DID remove both of those books from the list, but I plan to read them both after I've finished the Dark Tower series)
