The Black Suit did not come easily to me. The first translation into English was unsuccessful, and I had to completely rewrite it from the ground up, reshaping it for the American reader. Then came the next challenge: finding the right voice to carry its weight. I listened to hundreds of narrators. Too clean. Too safe. The few who truly matched walked away, saying the book was too real, too brutal, too naked in its honesty. Nothing in these pages is invented. Every scene is drawn from reality, exactly as it happened. That’s why it’s hard to put the book neatly into a box — is it literary crime fiction, or a work of documentary storytelling? In truth, the label doesn’t matter. What matters is the story itself. And now, at last, The Black Suit is here — both in print and in audio.
