Interesting. I found this one surprisingly moving. Maybe because I had zero expectations going in.
I was very moved! I had the audible on regular speed, just tad faster, so I do think that helped not lose any of the emotions.
Good review! I have read a lot of books about communist China lately and they have been so depressing I can barely get through it! But this was a great balance of hope and up lighting bonds of women in such an oppressed culture.
