Thank you so much Jenn! This means more than you know. It's hard writing a book with a target audience of middle school girls and have adults judge your work based on books targeted for them. As my very first attempt at writing a book, I was going for a quick easy read that would be enjoyed by the middle school aged girls I know. Sounds like you understood what I was trying to do. Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm 75% of the way through my second book and I'd say this one is more for high school aged girls so it's got more going on, but I still wouldn't call it poetic or full of prose ;)
